Controversial Facebook Photos of the Day: Air National Guard members Terran Echegoyen-McCabe and Christina Luna recently posted to Facebook several pics of themselves breastfeeding in fatigues — which they do all the time on Fairchild Airforce Base in Spokane, Washington – and their photos have prompted outcry from around the world.

No matter that there are no rules in military conduct against breastfeeding in uniform; one disparaging Facebook comment compared the images to “urinating and defecating.”

Fellow soldier Rita Trujillo commented: “I as one of many women who fought long and hard to be accepted and respected as fellow soldiers and the right to wear these uniforms feel shocked, angry at these published photos.”

The photos were taken for the Mom2Mom Breastfeeding Support Group,which raises awareness of women’s right to breastfeed in public.

Olympic Hopeful of the Day: Diving phenom Jordan Pisey Windle, at just 13, is the youngest ever to qualify for the U.S. Olympic diving trials, which will be held in Seattle later this month.

But Jordan’s also a young standout in the LGBT community. Adopted from Cambodia as a baby and raised by two gay dads, he recently released his own “It Gets Better” spot, and he will serve as the grand marshal for Central Indian’s upcoming Pride Parade.

Despite his increasing notoriety, Jordan isn’t too preoccupied with his upbringing: “I’ve never actually thought about it,” he says.

And the youngster’s sights are set on Rio de Janeiro if he doesn’t make London.

“This is a good setup for 2016,” says mentor Greg Louganis, a four-time Olympic gold medalist. “This is a time to learn. It’s a learning process and a journey.”

Puzzlewood is an ancient woodland site, near Coleford in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England. The site, covering 14 acres, shows evidence of open cast iron ore mining dating from the Roman period, and possibly earlier.

In 1848 some workmen, after moving a block of stone in the woods, found a small cavity in the rocks. In this cavity, hidden away, were three earthenware jars containing over 3,000 Roman coins. No-one knows why the coins were hidden away in the cliff face nor by whom.

J. R. R. Tolkien, a frequent visitor to the Forest of Dean, may have visited Puzzlewood, and many believe Puzzlewood was the inspiration for the fabled forests of Middle-earth, such as the Old Forest, Mirkwood, Fangorn or Lothlórien contained within The Lord of the Rings.
